Dr HUNG Po Wah, Eva
The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

Dr Hung received her PhD in East Asian Studies from the Australian National University. With a background training in Sociology, she is generally interested in issues on state-society relations in China and in particular the impacts on the everyday lived experience of the Chinese people. Her newest project looks at cross-border activities in the Pearl River Delta region, paying particular attention to the development and inner workings of a shadow economy. Her research papers have appeared in Journal of Gambling Studies, Social Indicators Research, Communist and Post-Communist Studies, and Modern China, among others.


Professor NGO Tak-Wing
University of Macau

Tak-Wing Ngo is Professor of Political Science at the University of Macau. He holds a Ph.D. from SOAS London and specializes in Asian political economy. He formerly taught at Leiden University and was the IIAS Professor of Asian History at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Professor Ngo is the editor of the referred journal China Information and co-editor of the Journal of Contemporary Asia. He also edits the book series Governance in Asia (NIAS Press) and Global Asia (Amsterdam University Press).
